Instagrammable Home – New York

Insta Home

Nowadays it’s important to be visible on Instagram. Subsequently, the spaces we’re photographing ourselves in are becoming more important too. Not to mention that a lot of new businesses are based or started at home. I had this in mind while designing this New York apartment. I called it Instagrammable Home, Insta Home for short.

Influencer Friendly Insta Home

As the term Instagram influencer grew into an actual job title, a lot of different sectors evolved around it. For instance, a large number of cafes, restaurants and hotels became insta-friendly. Hashtag #instahome has been used over 7 million times on Instagram. So, I thought it was about time to design an instagrammable home. When I was creating the interior design concept I focused on turning every corner of the space into a photo opportunity.

Interior Design

The apartment is great for taking selfies and recording videos because it’s full of light. I’ve designed the layout in a way that it’s not cluttered and it doesn’t distract you from the view. The Interior design of Instagrammable Home is based on modern and minimal shapes. Therefore, it’s a perfect backdrop for photos. The vibrant life of the New York fashion influencers inspired me to turn it into a cool party space. One that can easily change into a cosy intimate home.

If you look at the colours they are calm and bright. It’s quite feminine and inviting. I used light textured wood and soft pastel fabrics to make you feel more welcome. The concept behind Instagrammable Home was not only to gain more influence on Instagram but also to create a relaxed home.

When I was designing this Manhattan apartment I decided to make the private spaces feel more calmer than the living room. As a result the private suite of Insta Home is very minimal: colours are serene and bright. I removed any unnecessary elements to make it truly peaceful.
