About Ula
I’m a luxury interior designer based in London. I design modern and minimal interiors for homes around the world; spaces that are in harmony with the client’s personality and way of life.
Style and philosophy
The choice of where we live has a great impact on our wellbeing and interior design has a vital role in it. My style can be described as contemporary minimalism with understated luxury, appreciating existing architectural features. I also follow the rule “less is more”. You can read more about my interior design practices on my blog.
I love creating one-of-a-kind, original and elegant interiors that will withstand the test of time.
Design Process
I spend time on the concept stage of any design by dedicating a lot of thought and creative energy hand sketching the ideal space. I research the way you want to live, your interests and your passions which gets reflected in my designs.
Working with skilled craftsmen I carefully refine every detail and select natural materials, such as wood and marble, to make sure the best space potential is achieved. Every project is professionally documented and overseen which ensures that the chosen contractor can deliver the project seamlessly. Read more about my design process >>
Inspiration
Different dynamics of life inspire me – for example, I love observing vibrant living areas in London or New York, as well as tranquil vistas in nature. For me, a modern luxury home has to provide the opulence in a discreet way, and most importantly, be your own oasis – a place where you can unwind. In my projects I’m always searching for harmony, beauty and especially balance.
Experience
I hold a MA (Master of Arts degree) in Design and have lectured at the Architecture and Design Faculty at the University of Art in Poznan, Poland. I’ve worked on London’s most elite addresses: Knightsbridge, Grosvenor Square, Belgravia as well as properties in New York and Hong Kong. I’ve worked for the world-famous designer Kelly Hoppen and also the ultra hi-end London developer Finchatton. In addition to designing homes, I’ve been involved with naval interior projects for yachts and cruise ships.
Photography
Yes I also love photography! I often create unique photographs for my interior design projects. It adds identity and story to the space. It shows my inspirations, my design process and makes the project unique. Balancing in between different art disciplines keeps my mind fresh with new inspirations and makes my work so much more exciting.
For example, I do my best to attend the annual London Fashion Week, where I’ve been able to photograph such celebrities as; Cara Delevingne, Selena Gomez, Catherine Deneuve and Alexa Chung amongst others. It’s always an extraordinary experience to get inspired by the World of High Fashion which filters into my world of design.
